After school, a fee-based program, provides academic support and promotes healthy youth development through enriching activities in a safe, inclusive and caring environment. Community Education provides after school programs in all elementary and middle schools.

SLCSE Bryant After-School Program

Every Tuesday and Thursday students can stay after school to get academic help from their teachers.

This time can also be used for students who are looking for academic challenges to go beyond classroom learning or to build positive connections with each other and their teachers by participating in programs like MESA, filmmaking (with SpyHop) genealogy, pottery, bike club or maker lab. There are no fees associated with these opportunities and students can travel home on a district school bus when the activities are complete.

Outdoor Learning

At SLCSE-Bryant students are given the opportunity to participate in multi-day trips to explore the natural landscapes of Utah. Previous trips have included Goblin Valley State Park, Willard Bay State Park, Bear’s Ears National Monument and paleontological sites near Moab in collaboration with scientists from the Bureau of Land Management.

These adventures allow students to experience topics from the classroom in the real world. They also provide the chance to make connections with other students and faculty and to build self-confidence by persisting through tasks that seem difficult.
