Principals Message

Dear Bryant Bobcat Families and Students,

We are excited about welcoming you to our school community for the 2025-2026 school year. We are pleased to announce our new course offerings which include the College Board Pre-AP Geography, Fine Arts, Dance, and Music courses. All Pre-AP courses share a focus on critical thinking skills to prepare students for AP and IB college pathways in high school. College Board Pre-AP is designed to be accessible to all students and will provide preparation for more rigorous pathways beginning in 9th grade in the Salt Lake City School District high schools, including East High (College Board AP Diploma and Capstone school), West and Highland High (International Baccalaureate – IB schools), and Salt Lake Center for Science Education High School.

Additionally, Bryant will offer Honors courses which include a Capstone Extension to align with rigorous high school pathways. These courses are designed to meet the academic needs of students interested in a more complex learning style in math, science, language arts and social studies. The additional instruction challenges students in reading, writing, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students will be presented with opportunities to lead, collaborate, and extend their learning.

Dual Language Immersion (DLI) students continuing the DLI pathway, have course offerings to choose from which will allow access to the Language Bridge program at our local high schools. The Language Bridge program allows students to earn a minor in Spanish while in high school with university credits earned and applied toward Utah’s universities language degrees. These courses are designed for students who have been enrolled in an elementary Spanish Dual Language Immersion program or for students that read and write fluently in Spanish. The focus of the middle school DLI program is on cognition skills and deepening cultural competencies. Students get ready for the Spanish AP course, which is a prerequisite for the Language Bridge program that they will take in 9th grade.

We are also excited about the improvements to the surrounding field areas of the school which will include a new basketball court for our students, but also for our nearby school community use. These improvements will occur during the summer of 2025.

We are dedicated to increasing our community presence, engaging our families and students and being a centering place for our neighborhoods. We will provide an inclusive, safe, academic learning environment, as well as increasing opportunities for the arts and athletics for each student.

If you would like to tour the school or meet with teachers or a member of our administration, please feel free to reach out.

Sincerely,

Michelle Amiot, Ph.D.
